    • "A Genealogical History of the Clark and Worth Familes": William, Ensign, was born August 14, 1659; died February 5, 1740. At the age of 20, he "shipped before the mast" on the Hopewell June 12, 1679, receiving a seaman's wages of 35s. per month. May 15, 1683, he married Ann Cottle of Salisbury (dau. of William) who died August 15, 1747. He bought land in York county. "I William Titcomb of Newbury -- Blacksmith as an Attorney to my Brother-in-Law John Stephens of Dorchester in ye County of Barkley in ye province of South Carolina in America -- for -- fourty and five pounds money -- paid -- Sell -- unto Mr. Stephen Coffin of -- Newbury a certain Tract of Land Scituate--in ye Township of Newbury aforesd." 31 Jan. 1715.
