    • 22 Oct 1888, Last Will of Ezekiel S. Richardson of Bolivar, Allegany County, New York:

      - First, to my wife Caroline Richardson the homestead on which I reside in Bolivar;

      - Second, to my daughter Belle Brokaw all the rest, residue, and remainder of my real estate containing about 100 acres of land in Bolivar, and order this farm shall not be sold nor mortgaged during the lifetime of Belle Brokaw;

      - Third, to my daughter Belle Brokaw $250;

      - Fourth, to my son-in-law Dorr Brokaw $250, and all stock and farm utensils that may be on the farm I hereby devised to said Belle Brokaw at my decease and all wagons, buggies, harnesses except as hereinafter reserved to my wife, her choice in the cows of one, the gray mare, the covered buggy, and cutter the best single harness robe and whip.

      - Fifth, to my granddaughter Carrie E. Brokaw $500 to be paid at 21 years of age, she to have the interest thereon after my decease;

      - Sixth, to my granddaughter Mamie Brokaw $500 to be paid at age 21 with interest;

      - Seventh, to my daughter Alice Ford $5,500;

      - Eighth, to my granddaughter Anna M. Ford $1,000 to be paid at age 21 with interest, and that should Anna M. Ford die leaving no child or children then the above bequest to her is to go to her mother if living, if not living then to be divided equally between my other grandchildren;

      - Ninth and lastly, to my said wife Caroline Richardson all the bank stock of which I am possessed and all the rest, residue and remainder of my personal estate after paying the legacies herein before mentioned, and also household furniture... to hold as her own absolutely and be disposed of as to her may seem proper. And it is further understood and directed by me the coward grey mare reserved for the use of my said wife is to be kept on the farm hereby devised to said Belle Brokaw during the lifetime of my wife;

      - I appoint my wife Caroline Richardson and Dorr Brokaw to be executors.
