      Mrs. Emma Young Dies At 84 [sic], Rites Monday

      Mrs. Emma Alexander Young, 84 [sic], widow of Joseph Young, died today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Van Patten, 226 Central avenue, Carman. She had been ill for a long time.
      Mrs. Young was born in Orleans County and lived in this city about 50 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the Ellis funeral home and burial will be in Evergreen Memorial cemetery. The funeral home will be open Sunday after 7 p.m.

      Survivors include her daughter, one sister, Mrs. Charles H. White of Schenectady; three grandchildren, Mrs. Earl Popp of Tonawanda, Miss Beatrice Ames of Dothan, Al., and Gordon A. Ames of Schenectady, two great-grandchildren, Arthur G. and Craig M. Ames, and several nieces and nephews.?

      [NOTE: The 1900 census and has her born April 1864 and the 1865, 1870 & 1875 & 1880 censuses have her born ca 1864 so her age at death is incorrect. She would have been 89.]
