      Van Patten Dies, Retired GE Employe

      Harry Van Patten, 89, of 227 Central avenue, Carman, died Saturday at St Clare's Hospital after a brief illness.

      BORN IN ALBANY, Mr. Van Patten had lived In Schenectady for the past 70 years. He retired In 1931 from General Electric Co. after 37 years employment as a polisher. He was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church and the GE Quarter-Century club.

      Mr. Van Patten is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gurtha Ames Van Patten; one daughter, Mrs. Frank Coons of Fort Myers, Fla.; two sons, Raymond and Harry Van Patten of Schenectady, and three grandchildren.

      The order for the burial of the dead will be read tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. from the Ellis Funeral Home, Rev. Darwin Kirby Jr. of St. George's Episcopal Church, officiating. The funeral home will be open tonight after 7 o'clock. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery.
