  • Notes
    • Almon Corliss appears in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs index, born 23 November 1896, died 23 November 1973, enlisted 17 March 1918, released 22 August 1919.

    • Almon Corliss never married and had no children (SSN 018-10-3770 SSDI). Almon was a soldier during World War I. Family stories are that he rode motorcycles in France, and that he fell in love with the wrong woman early in his life. His choices as a result of that relationship caused him to spend much of his adult life in prison. Almon died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on his 77th birthday at his apartment in Athol, Massachusetts, and is buried with his parents and brother in Contoocook Village Cemetery, Contoocook, New Hampshire.

Almon appears in the 1900 census of Hopkinton, New Hampshire at age 3 in the home of his parents. He again appears as their only child in the 1910 census of Hopkinton, although his mother's name is listed as "Willie A." instead of "Nellie."

Almon Corliss appears in the 1930 census of Phillipston town, Worcester, Massachusetts as age 24 (he would have been 34) and a boarder in the house of Frank Turner, age 66, along with Frank's daughter Edith Dould, age 39, and a 7-year old boarder named Edith Bradford. Almon's occupation is listed as Truckman. Could this be a different Almon Corliss?
