    • From Russell Morgan's genealogy:

      Russell David Morgan grew up and attended Concord schools, as a lad was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, joined the Civilian Conservation Corps when that organization was functioning at the height of the Great Depression, enlisted in the New Hampshire National Guard where he served as a Private, Soldier, chauffeur, motorcycle dispatch rider, and Military Policeman, leaving the 197th Regiment at the conclusion of his second enlistment in Palacious, Texas, at which time the National Guard [sic] a part of the United States Army, having been federalized after the declaration of the National Emergency in 1940.

      Following the attack at Pearl Harbor, he volunteered for military service, and re-entered the Military under the Volunteer Officer Candidate Program, was later accepted for Signal Corps Officer Candidates School, and graduated from same, as a Second Lieutenant, at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey on 6 March (his second wedding anniversary) 1943. He saw service in California, then spent over two years in Europe, serving in England, France, Belgium, Holland, Luxemburg, and Germany, and returned to the States as a Signal Corps Captain with five battle stars in October of 1945. The following May he was recalled into the Federal Service, and then served in the Army Security Agency, and then as Instructor in Signal Corps Equipment Maintenance and Supply in the Officers Department at Fort Monmouth, NJ.

      On return to civilian life in 1948, he was appointed Inspector General of the National Guard of the State of New Hampshire, serving on the State Staff headed by General Charles Bowen. This was followed by a tour with the Army Reserve.

      In civilian life, Russell David Morgan was an electronics specialist and then a quality control and reliability specialist, was self-employed for a number of years, and was employed in administrative and technical capacities by the Raytheon Company, by the TRAM Corporation, by the Daven Division of the McGraw-Edison Co., as Manager of Quality Control and Reliability and then as Product Assurance Mgr., and by the RCL Electronics Division of AMF Incorporated, from which he retired as Director of Quality Assurance.
