  • Notes 
    • "A Genealogical History of the Clark and Worth Families": John Abbot(t), born March 2, 1648, was a deacon of South Church and a farmer in Andover, living with his father in their garrison house. He served Andover as a selectman. November 17, 1673, he married Sarah, daughter of Richard Barker. He died March 19, 1721; his widow February 10, 1729. Their descendants include Abiel, a Major in the American Revolution, and another Abiel, D. D. who founded at Peterborough NH the first free public library supported by public taxation.

      From "The Descendants of William and Annis Chandler, of Roxbury, Mass.": John and Sarah (Barker) Abbott had nine children.
