    Ernest Morgan
Ernest Morgan, born in 1898, was a Bow native, going to school at the Bow Bog one-room schoolhouse. He was a locomotive fireman for the B&M until he was laid off in 1929, a casualty of the Great Depression. He and his wife Lottie built a small grocery store and gas station at Bow Mills. In 1940, Ernest was re-hired by the railroad and worked as an engineer. He served the town as fire warden and as a representative to the New Hampshire legislature. Ernest Morgan was the fifth generation of his family to be buried in the Alexander Cemetery.

This photograph shows Ernest and Lottie Morgan in front of their second filling station and store built at Bow Mills. The first store was destroyed by a fire in the early 1930s. This building was later used as the town's first fire station. The building on the left is the former Bow Mills brick one-room schoolhouse, which was converted into the Morgan's home. This area all became part of the Interstate 89 overpass.
